Seniors for Kids Society
The Seniors for Kids Society has successfully delivered grandparent programs within the school program for the past 10 years. This is a senior mentoring program where seniors become “school grandparents” to students who qualify.
Very dedicated senior volunteers spend time as a “classroom grandparent” or, individually with a student. The seniors have excellent listening skills and invaluable life experiences. Special, unique friendships have developed as a result of these meetings. These seniors become positive role models for our children.
This is an enjoyable experience for seniors who benefit because they feel a contribution to the well being of our youth. Anyone interested in becoming a "school grandparent" can call the school office or the Seniors for Kids Society at 932-4298. Senior volunteers are greatly needed and appreciated for this program.
