The Alberta Mentor Foundation for Youth Program
The Alberta Mentor Foundation for Youth (AMFY) is a not-for profit organization dedicated to assisting young people develop their full potential.
As a leader in the field of in-school mentoring, AMFY operates at the junior and senior high school levels in Calgary and the surrounding area where caring adult volunteers spend one hour a week, one-on-one with a student (protégé).
AMFY mentors are non-judgmental adults with a sincere desire to encourage and listen to a young person. Mentors come from a broad range of backgrounds and may be a business person, a professional, a homemaker, a tradesperson, a post-secondary student, or a senior citizen.
AMFY’s mentoring program is offered at no cost to Calgary and area schools such as Westbrook . Funding comes primarily from private and corporate donations, and through limited government support.
