Greetings Westbrook School Families,

We know that it is a difficult time as the new school year approaches and parents have to make a decision about on-line or in-school learning, by Monday, 9:00 am August 24 (RVS information available here). To help with your decision, we would like to provide you with some information. We are unable to provide tours of the school, thus we have a photographic tour (Click Here) . Please note that the pictures were taken prior to RVS possession of the building, thus do not include COVID-19 safety practices outlined in the RVS Re-Entry Plan Scenario 1: In-School Learning.

Westbrook School Staff is looking forward to accessing the building next week and will be preparing and implementing all AHS & RVS protocols, as we prepare for Scenario 1: In-School Learning, starting with a staggered entry beginning September 2, 3 & 4.  Specific details of the staggered entry will be released by the end of August.

Our 2020 - 2021 population for grades 1 to 8 is approximately 160 with 6 classrooms for our grade 1 to 8 students. Our planned classrooms are combined grades that range in sizes from 21 to 25 in grades 1 to 4 and 30 to 32 in grades 5 to 8. We are estimating a Kindergarten classroom of 12 students. These numbers are only estimates from last June and may change as Mrs. Dixon will be reviewing emails and registrations later this week to see if any students have moved in or out of the area. Every fall our numbers change and this is why we do not share grade configurations or teachers until we actually start school.

We are sharing this information to help you make an informed decision, that best suits your family situation, regarding the best learning environment for your child. If you have further questions, we will do our best to monitor our e-mails for the remainder of this week.

Sincerely,

Christine Parker (cparker@rockyview.ab.ca) Hana Hooper (hhooper@rockyview.ab.ca)
