Mr. Erison

Welcome to Grade 4!

Here you will find our calendar with important dates, parent resources, curriculum links and our link to our Google Classroom.

It is important to be involved in your child's learning. Here are a list of tips to help at home.

  1. Reading at home is one of the best things you can do for your child. Try to find books that are engaging and at the level of your child. Having your child read aloud on a regular basis will help their learning in all areas. You can contact Mr. Fines or your local library for book recommendations.
  2. Check your child's agenda daily. It will help you stay in touch with school events and know what homework they might have. Use the school website to help with dates. My section has a link to a blended classroom/Rocky View calendar.
  3. Homework should not exceed 30 minutes a night. If it does, please feel free to stop and write me a note to explain. Any homework sent home is intended to be accomplished by the student and will have been taught at school.
  4. Other great ways to engage your child at home is board games. Many games involve both reading and math skills. This can be an enjoyable way to help your children at home and can involve siblings as well.
  5. The internet is a great way to enhance your child's learning. It is a good idea to add a filter to your home internet. Here are some internet resources you may wish to view:
