About Our School

Westbrook is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school which has been in operation since 1953. The school is located in the foothills fifteen minutes north of Cochrane, Alberta on Highway 22 in the heart of an agricultural and acreage area.

Westbrook has a school population of over 160 students. We have 7 classrooms, a technology integrated library  and Learning Commons, two mobile laptop carts with 30 Mac books, an art/drama area and LCD projectors, integrated whiteboards (Smart Boards), and Apple TVs in every classroom.

We have a tradition of strong academic programming, dedicated staff, a supportive and involved community, and an excellent extra-curricular program. Westbrook School is a child-centered school. It is our belief that every child has a right to the best education we can provide. We believe it is important to help our students maintain a positive self-image.

The Westbrook experience is a unique opportunity for everyone to experience the benefits of a smaller size school, allowing everyone to know the strengths and needs of our students. Parents and staff work closely as a team to ensure students achieve success and meet their full potential as learners academically, socially, and physically.

Mission Statement

The Westbrook School's purpose is to provide students every opportunity for intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth utilizing the strengths and resources of the local, provincial, and global community.
The school also provides educational leadership within the community to promote this growth in our children.

Vision Statement

Our vision is for Westbrook School and the community at large to be a collegial and collaborative partnership of learners where students experience the opportunity to achieve their personal best in a safe, respectful, supportive and caring environment so that they may become responsible and valued citizens.
